Prior to the adoption of Ord. No. 2437 on 02/06/2006, Section 15.64.190 read as follows.

    A.    Applications for a certificate of appropriateness shall be available from the city clerk. Applications shall be completed and submitted to the city clerk, which shall forward them to the Columbia heritage and preservation commission. The commission shall schedule a public hearing for consideration of the application within fifteen (15) days of receipt of the application. A public notice for consideration of the application shall be made no less than fifteen (15) days nor more than thirty (30) days before a hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation published in the city.
    B.    If the Columbia heritage and preservation commission finds at the time that the application merits further consideration, then the commission may table the request until its next regularly scheduled meeting. (Ord. 777 § 1 (part), 1989: prior code § 41-5-6)
